The conclusions emphasize the crucial role of victims in remembrance policies, promoting awareness of the human consequences of terrorism and preventing radicalization. Member states are urged to implement national contact points and nominate a single point of contact for victims of terrorism to enhance cross-border support. The European Commission’s proposed amendments to the victims’ rights directive are currently under discussion. Additional measures for victims of terrorism include the counter-terrorism directive and the establishment of an EU center of expertise for victims of terrorism.
